Say "Hi!" to Echo

Echo, the husky, happened to be dining at the next table to us  with his owners this afternoon in Callander. And I couldn’t resist a photo.
It’s rare to find a pure bred husky in Scotland but his owners , on holiday from Newcastle, say they are a popular breed back home.

When our young waiter appeared I trotted out my usual question:” what are you studying?”
“I’m not. I am doing an apprenticeship.”
 That’s when I learn that half his class had decided against university because of the hefty debt they would incur and no guarantee of a job at the end.

Once university was what we all aspired to. That is no longer the case.
