Miniature Railway
Until today I was totally unaware of the miniature railway in Ashton Court, Bristol, but our son chose this as this afternoon's entertainment for our granddaughter. She seemed to enjoy it.
The railway is operated by the Bristol Society of Model and Experimental Engineers. There are several locomotives, both steam and electric, and many volunteers to drive them, service them, maintain and operate the track and signalling and look after the public visitors. The locos are suprisingly powerful considering their miniature size and have no difficulty pulling two or three "carriages" loaded with passengers.
A pleasant and entertaining way to spend the afternoon.
