elegant simplicity

today we said our goodbyes to my father-in-law, in a family-only ceremony, at the crematorium - simple, beautiful and very moving. our adult children and their cousins carried their grandfather's coffin in. the coffin was covered with flowers and foliage foraged from his garden and nine acre wood. we'll celebrate a life well-lived in their local church, later this month.
