Ileodictyon cibarium...
...or basket fungus.
Other NZ Blippers have been posting these beauties for several weeks, and until today I've not seen any hereabouts. I think it has been too dry until these last few days for them to flourish.
I worked in K's garden all morning and there were three fungi lying under a rose bush on a comfortable bed of oak leaves.
Unfortunately whilst gardening I must have twisted or bent my back in a way it didn't like. I was in some pain again afterwards for a couple of hours, until I worked out that 20 minutes with a hot wheat pack on my back completely eases it. Like magic.
I'll be having a couple of quiet days, just to make sure all's well.
