Homeward bound

Day started well. Had a pre breakfast swim, then ate, finished packing, and sat with my book trying to keep out of the 31 deg sun. Said goodbye to everyone who was around and Panos drove me to the airport for noon..

40+ minutes to check-in and get to departures. Avoided the shops but luckily, as it turned out, bought a baguette and a beer. Inbound was slightly late but we were all boarded by 14.10. 

Then it all went downhill. 75 mini delay due to English ATC turned into 90+ minutes so I knew I'd miss my 18.10 connection. 

Finished my book and checked about being rebooked. That all worked well. As I got to Flight Connections was given a new flight, 21.40. though they'd originally wanted me to take the 6.15 flight on Monday. I'd actually been sent that info just after we took off from Chania!

However, the 18.10 was also delayed by about an hour and hadn't even boarded by the time I got to departures, clutching my £10 voucher. It was not to be, I had 3 hours in T5. Ate and finally took off at 22h. 

This time good views of Whitechapel where I used to work, where Xin lives and of course my 2 gt grandmother was born.
