One of two male bullfinches back in the garden

I noticed a male bullfinch visiting the sunflower feeder recently, ad have been on the lookout for it ever since. today I saw two males together, and a female at a later time. I'm delighted.

We've had bullfinches in and around the garden for many years, and noticed they were rearing their young, bringing them to the feeders to show them how to feed. I assume one of the male bullfinches was a juvenile.  Perhaps there are more. Last year I did see five males all close together on the tree outside my study window.

But after this winter they seemed to have disappeared so I was worried they'd been killed or subject to avian flu. Now I'm happy to have them back.
