It was a surprise to find Porcini in the market this early in the year. I thought they only fruited in early autumn.

Scottish people call them (somewhat unglamorously) 'Penny Bun', which seems to better suit these compact little mushrooms. Less flavoursome than their autumnal cousins, even with the hit of garlic butter. Still nice on toast though.
