Pont des Morts

It is the longer of the two bridges in Metz. It is called Pont des Morts following a charter from a bishop of Metz dating from March 8, 1222 which established that any person who died had to give their best clothing to the Saint-Nicolas hospital, which had built the bridge and had to maintain it.
