My first granny square!

I doubt if many of you will be impressed! However, this is a landmark for me in my crochet career. My plan is to make a blanket out of granny squares and I have today received a large number of balls of yarn. I will be trying out different patterns of granny square using five colours which will hopefully give the blanket an overall unity. So there may be more granny square blips! However, I first need to sort my tension as this square is too loose and I will have to see if I can get a better result with a thinner crochet hook.
