D Day postbox topper

There is a small post box at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and it has been decorated with this intricate topper for the D day memorial last week.  I think it is an intricate and thought provoking piece of work.

I met up with my piano duet playing friend today for lunch and we had lots of catching up to do.  We try to get together a couple of times a year if we can.  Normally somewhere like Broadway between us and pleasant.  We have known each other since we were 11 when we went to the same secondary school and got friendly over the piano playing marches for "the girls"  to leave assembly promptly and without talking!
