Arrivederci, Il Muretto

A sudden epiphany or delayed realization?  Today we venture into the Twilight Zone of Transition Travel.  We take days to move from one place to the next.  Granted, those places are separated by thousands of miles encompassing several time zones, an ocean and an entire continent.  We prefer the boredom of endless waiting to the anxiety and worry of getting there in time.  Up at 5:30 am to meditate, finish packing, clean the apartment, then lug our luggage up the stairs to our ‘apartment’s stoop wall’, one bag at a time, to await the taxi’s 8:05 am arrival.  Our Air B&B  apartment’s name is “Il Muretto” (the little wall).  For the last month or so, I assumed that referred to the little wall above our stairs in Piazza Gramsci, where the neighbor guys sit and chat, and where out luggage is now propped.  But no, I think ‘Il Muretto” refers to another wall entirely.  I also thought it referred to the wall of our terrace with the panoramic view.  But no, just now I realize it referrs to our very own Il muretto.  The rock wall in our apartment, is our very own wall.  Complete with a little cave.  Today’s blips are all the little walls, at our Spello home.  Arrivederci.  It was smooth sailing on the Flixbus from Foligno to Rome Airport, then shuttle to hotel…where we hanged out at the mall and spent a restful night before our grueling flight tomorrow.
