Cutting Edge stuff
At last, a day with wall to wall sunshine. I decided to do some work in the garden and the thing that most needed doing, and has annoyed me for ages, is to cut the edges of the lawns. There are two small lawns, each with stone block surrounds, and the grass had grown over the stone blocks and looked really untidy. It took most of the day but now looks so much better than before.
While tidying up I spotted the logo on the brush. It is 'Winfield', which was the in-house brand of the now defunct Woolworths stores. I distinctly remember buying this in the Woolworths branch in Gosforth High Street just after I had bought my first flat, so it would have been in late 1977. I seem to remember I had a bit of a crush on one of the girls who worked there!
