Osborne House
How to summarise the combination of Regal Opulence and family home that is Osborne House? It is a house of contrasts.
The formal rooms have stunningly decorated ceilings, especially that in the Indian room. Bedrooms and children's are very plain. Statuary and art abounds but includes representation of family and pets.
The gardens are formal, set in wide grassy and wooded vistas.
So I'm blipping the staircase, going down and extra 1 looking up to where we've been, the sculpture visible in both and thanks to the anonymous gentleman for giving scale.
Extra 2 is the view from the house of the path to the beach, beyond the fountain and lily pond. Time suggested is 20 minutes but this does not allow for gazing at damselflies on the pond or reading all the ID labels for the many species of oak and pine planted by Prince Albert.
Extra 3 is the Victoria bit: her bathing machine, which is down by the beach.
Sorry to be behind with comments: the WiFi here is accessed by standing in the bedroom corner closest to our host's house. From tomorrow matters should improve as we move on
