Mine’s bigger than yours
We had no specific plans for the bank holiday on Monday, which turned out to be a good thing as it poured with rain for most of the day. Most of the time was spent doing lots of small tidying jobs. At about 3pm, there was a break in the showers, and we decided to go for a walk to Wimbledon. We went via Raynes Park's Costa Coffee, which was nice and air-conditioned. The rain had made the outdoors feel very humid. PY bought me a coffee, and we walked along Worple Road. As we passed the Shell garage, I saw the big Costa cup and couldn't resist a silly photo. I managed to get the picture before the drizzle, which followed us all the way.
We did not need much. PY was picking up some contact lenses, and we went to the supermarket for supplies. The walk was mainly a way of getting us out of the house and making us feel like we had achieved something on a bank holiday.
In the evening, we completed the series Shardlake, available on Disney+. Although this series featured monks being investigated, I couldn't get the 1980s TV series Cadfael out of my head. Shardlake is probably more gruesome. They have good characters and an interesting plot. Set up for a second series?
Early in the evening, we put the dishwasher on to make sure that it works now PY has reattached all the woodwork underneath the kitchen units. Just as we were heading to bed, it popped open as it should at the end of the washing cycle. It seemed like a good point to end that day.
