Anchors...
………………………..…….Aweigh
It is an anchor and I know it isn’t going anywhere, but it is the nearest I could get for today’s Wide Wednesday challenge of a song title.
Thanks for hosting RockArea.
Technically, the term is as follows - “An anchor that is aweigh is one that has just begun to pull on the rope or chain as it is being hauled in”
Researching the song was fascinating. Read here for the full background history.
Briefly, it was composed by the United States Naval Academy’s Bandmaster and Music Director, Charles A. Zimmerman, and its lyrics were written by Midshipman Alfred Hart Miles in the year 1906.
The anchor featured in my blip sits at the local Motueka Marina. Colour enhancement was with the Distressed FX app.
