Orla's Dance Displays

Today was the last night of Orla's dance displays. Every year her musical theatre class performs a song as part of a performance of all the dance classes in the dance academy. This is Orla's third dance display, and her first time having a solo! Her class was performing 'Seize the Day' from Newsies, and she sang the main solo part at the beginning of the song. 

Unfortunately, Hannah wasn't able to perform this year, but she was still helping out as a chaperone backstage. Orla had lots of fun with her friends from musical theatre who were in her changing room, and making friends with all the other people there from other classes. She spent a lot of time in the changing room considering each performance was two hours long (not including having to get there early) and her song was only two minutes since she only goes to one class.

This year was  the last year for two other people in Orla's musical theatre class - Sophie and Erin Y. Needless to say, there was lots of tears and hugging after the final performance. Also, Orla's friend Erin M won an award for her progress over the last year!

Orla says she feels strange because she thought that her dance display last year would be her final one, since we all thought we would be moving house. Thankfully, we did not, which means Orla was able to have this amazing experience. She is very much looking forward to next year!
