Pirates at the Hanse Festival

We decided to have a day exploring the lovely buildings of King's Lynn and were fortunate that there was a Hansa Festival in the town.

The Hanseatic League was a group of European and Baltic nations that travelled the sea together for trade as protection from pirates.  (There's a modern version too).

There was a parade of flags from the nations led by dignitaries and Medieval musicians which went along the streets to King's Staithe Square on the Quay.  There was Latvian dancing and music.

There were some amazing pirate costumes too as in my blip, the flag parade is an extra.

We enjoyed looking around the beautiful architecture of the town, there's an extra of the Guildhall in the centre of town.
