Fisheries Museum

The theme for Wide Wednesday is Song Title - a difficult one. This is a wide angle shot of part of the front of the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther. The Museum tells the story of the Scottish fishing industry, especially the crews of the sailing boats which hunted for herring in the second half of the 19th century and first half of the 20th. The Museum boat Reaper was one of these boats. This brings me to the song Shoals of Herring by Ewan MacColl.
Oh it was a fine and a pleasant day
Out of Yarmouth harbour I was faring
As a cabin boy on a sailing lugger
We were following the shoals of herring…
The extra is another harbour panorama, with a better sky than the last one. Keen eyes will notice the absence of Reaper, currently at Macduff on the way to Portsoy. Thanks to RockArea for hosting.
These are best in large (full screen) mode.
