I decided to follow a theme today during my walk through the bosque. Too windy and smoky for a bike ride.

For those who asked Re: the fires in New Mexico...very sad, of course. 3.5 hours south of here, Ruidoso is/ was a lovely little mountain town that is close to destruction. We in the west, California and Arizona included, live with the imminent threat of fire every summer, as do all drought-prone areas of the planet.  Actually, it seems the whole planet is either flooding or burning at any given time.
