White basket fungus

Ileodictyon cibarium is a saprotrophic species of fungus in the family Phallaceae. It is native to Australia and New Zealand, where it is commonly known as the basket fungus or the white basket fungus.


This one was growing beside the footpath on the way home.  The one in extras is interesting.  I don't know the 'stages' so don't know if this is not yet expanded, or if it has already deflated.
