tempus fugit

Hi-vis warning

Mullein moth caterpillars are chomping through their furry food plant (mullein) in total security as far as birds are concerned. These plump larvae advertise their unpalatability with their vivid patterning in classic aposematic ("Go away, I taste horrible") fashion. They aren't kidding: they absorb a toxin from the plant and any reckless creature that samples one of them will regret it.

Still, I love the pattern and it would be wonderful to have a dinner service like it.
Or would it?
