Bolton

Did some lab caches with my daughter before we went for lunch. There were a few stages left to do and I said I'd do those later before I went home. There are some beautiful building sin Bolton. After lunch at a little Portuguese cafe (very nice) called Th3 Guys, we went to my granddaughter Sofia's school sports day. I didn't manage to get a photo of the race we saw her run in as I was too busy watching!
We had a journey to McD's after - not a place I like much but we couldn't go to Karen's as the flooring bloke was still fitting the flooring and so we went to McD's for a drink. I had a cappuccino but it wasn't much like cappuccino while Sofia has a Biscoff frappe which was absolutely delicious when I had a taste. Grandson Kaide called in to say hello before he went off to the gym.
Karen dropped me off in the town centre as she had to get to work. I set off to finish the labs. I went the wrong way for one and had to do some backtracking before getting the correct route. It was harder picking the trail back up than it would have been to continue it as I was doing 3 labs all interspersed. After getting a particular stage of one I was desperate for the loo and couldn't find one nearby so headed to Market Place where I knew there'd be one. This is where the day went to the pits.
I had a major nosebleed - the worst I've ever had. It started suddenly and without warning as I was flushing the loo. The place ended up like a bloodbath. Even I was surprised how much blood I lost. Some ladies came to my assistance and went to get help from some of the shop people who helped me as well then went for security. Several security people also came to my aid. All these people were so kind, caring, comforting and helpful, getting me a bucket, piles of tissue, and a chair. They rang Terry and my daughter Karen (couldn't get Karen though, as I expected, as she was working and would have been on a conference call with her phone off). The rang for an ambulance due to the amount of blood I was losing and the paramedics clamped my nose for half an hour but it was still bleeding. Blood pressure was very high. Off I went to A&E.
To cut a long story short, there was no signal at all in the hospital and I could not contact Terry to tell him what was happening. I asked a number of people to do it for me and they kept saying they'd sort it out but nobody did. Having been phoned hours before to tell him I was having a bad nosebleed and they were waiting for an ambulance I thought he would be worried what was happening.
I finally got someone to ring him for me on the hospital phone and they told him to set off as they didn't know how long I'd be.
Someone had put a peg contraption on my nose and gone off duty so it was a good job I knew to release it or I may not have a nose now LOL. I had moved to the assessment unit from A&E at this time which was like an oven.
They were going to pack my nose but it seemed to have stopped by the time I was seen (I'd had obs done a few times before this) although it was oozing a little so they gave me a fresh disposable bowl, more tissue and and the nose peg / clamp to take with me when Terry came for me! They were going to refer me to ENT but I said I didn't live in Bolton so they said to contact my GP tomorrow to ask them to do it and ask them to review my BP.
I was very glad to see Terry when he arrived. When I went to bed I couldn't sleep as there was so much pressure behind my nose, high up (must have been bloodclots) and the blood was still oozing a bit - I was a bit worried about choking on my own blood in the night! I'd already had enough of that when my nose was pinched / clamped - the blood didn't stop, it just moved - to gush down the back of my throat resulting in coughing and heaving.
I probably should not have gone to Bolton today as I had had 2 nosebleeds the night before ie at 1am for 20 minutes and 4am for 15 minutes but I seemed fine in the morning and had already booked my ticket plus I didn't want to let my daughter down - then there's the bravado part of it I suppose ie I shouldn't be soft, get out for the day !
Extra photo - can you guess what it is?
