Showers

Today will be 20 degrees cooler, the heatwave is over.  Yay!  We will be having showers off and on for the next few days but that's fine with me.  On this day 55 years ago, I was married, and this "shower" took place about a week before.  I was showered with wedding gifts but first I had to be showered with crepe paper petals!  This photo screams 1960's to me.  So funny.  Now, they do "Jack and Jill" parties with both bride and groom in attendance, but I seriously doubt anyone is forced to sit under an umbrella filled with crepe paper petals!  It was a beautiful day 55 years ago for my country club wedding reception.  Seems like ancient history to me.
