Loch Katrine

the 1900 steamer Sir Walter Scott still carries visitors the 7 miles  westwards across the loch to Stronachlacher it being the oldest screw steamer in regular service once connecting with horsedrawn 'buses' then motor charabancs taking visitors to Loch Lomond
the first EXTRA shows the steamer in its original condition on the 1905 postcard.....note the deck steering before a bridge was added
the second EXTRA shows the steamer after conversion to biofuel in 2007 when a large white forrard deck saloon was added the latter feature offering more comfort and weatherproofing for passengers but for some senior fans of the ship it spoils the lines of the original steamer
