If You Want Blood You’ve Got It

Today was my annual Diabetic review, which involved the extraction of what felt like a good half pint of blood from my right arm. This will be sent off for analysis and I’ll get the results some time next week. To be honest, I’m not expecting good news as my diet has been somewhat shocking of late. On the other hand, I have started running again so maybe that might have offset some of the increased carbs intake. We shall see.
Blood pressure, weight and state of feet were all considered acceptable so I must have been doing something right over the past twelve months!
I thought I might get a lollipop (sugar free, obviously) or a “Brave Boy” sticker for not making a fuss when the needle was stuck in me, but it would seem NHS cutbacks mean I only qualify for this tiny plaster…
