Wound up in Wexford

Mother and child

Mrs GSW has been a regular visitor to our nuts, so we thought she must be feeding babies.  Then, a few days ago, W was first down in the morning, and was delighted to see mum and youngster in the garden.  Today, I got my first view of the youngster - mum on the nuts, youngster above her in the tree.

All the birds were quite "flighty" today, because we've had several magpies and their adolescent (but still squawking to be fed) offspring hanging around the patio much of the day.

Despite some drizzle, W got out into the garden and did some mowing and strimming.  I went out to do some weeding but it was too wet for this fair weather gardener.  The weeds will still be there tomorrow.  I sewed instead.

In the evening, we met S and T for a lovely meal at Meyler's Millhouse Restaurant, and then we all went to Sigginstown Castle for another evening of musical entertainment.  Irish music again, but a very different flavour to yesterday.  The Allabair (apparently this is an old Irish term for echoes or reflections) Trio were performing their interpretations of tunes and poems by Turlough O'Carolan.

We drove home through a lovely summer evening - so I'm hoping to get the weeding done tomorrow.
