Afternoon shadows

After breakfast, I went out to water the plants, fill the bird feeders, and refill the bird bath. Other than that I kept myself busy indoors again today, beating the heat. I did some tidying up, and vacuumed and mopped the hard wood floors - hall, kitchen and breakfast room, and did some vacuuming. Our breakfast room is probably my favourite room in the house, nice and light, I love the golden hard wood floor, and it makes a lovely place to sit and read or knit and or watch the birds. In the late afternoon, the sun shines in through the breakfast room windows, and makes shadows across the floor, and especially since they were freshly cleaned, I thought it made an attractive scene.
