Moth Trapping

This morning I joined a moth trapping workshop. The moth expert told us the name of each moth and we were able to take photographs as he released them back into the wild. It was fascinating, I had no idea there were so many beautiful moths with lovely names.

The collage shows 5 of the most photogenic moths. The top is a Lilac Beauty Moth. Middle row left is a Small Magpie, Middle row right is a Burnished Brass Moth.
At the bottom there is an Elephant Hawk Moth and a Light Emerald.
