Day 11 - It's just a blur....
The alarm went off at 3am this morning....argh!
Jumped in the car and we were off by 3:30 to the airport. Only to find they had closed the ramp to the motorway!
Panic time, had to take a detour and drive through the weird road system around Disney!
We made it to the airport in time to set off for phase 2 of the holiday....New York.
After dropping bags at the hotel, we headed out for brunch at the ORIGINAL Shake Shack in Madison Square Park. You've missed us now though.
Watch out for the Shake Shack - it will be every where soon. I last had one a few weeks ago at Dubai Airport. They've just opened London.
Maybe I should open one in Glasgow as my retirement plan (as Krispy Kremes are creeping into Scotland on their own).
We then hopped on a Bus tour and got off around the 9/11 site.
We went for a wander round the historic St Paul's Chapel which was very close by and had been used as a refuge for the emergency workers.
Unfortunately, K tripped up on the cobblestones and took a tumble. She thought she may have broken a finger...so it was off to the ER room for the afternoon. After George Clooney failed to turn up, the radiologist confirmed it wasn't broken (only took 3 hours of waiting).
After last nights Italian - we felt we needed MORE! So it was off to little Italy for spaghetti.
We all nearly fell asleep on our plates and the day was becoming a blur, so we headed for the subway.
The New York subway is pretty grimy and exactly how it looks in every good cop movie.
