After the sun had set
This was the last photo taken when on a quick jog to the exposed sand at Southend of Snells beach.. We drove back to Snells for the working week (so that the builders and tradies can work without us getting in the way), and ended up almost running out of daylight.
It was peaceful down there, apart from one big-voiced dog, which barked loudly every so often. A white-faced heron flew over me when I first got there, and a group of Poaka (pied stilts) appeared to be going to sleep in the shallow water; the tide was nearly fully in.
