A Winter Evening…..

Maisie on her mat in front of the wood burner, Bryan the Birman squeezed into the little green bin I use to bring the kindling wood in from the wood shed. They love winter. Myrtle came indoors earlier with very wet fur and sat on my knee. Marigold has a fluffy rug to curl up on but prefers an orange shopping bag on my bed.
We haven’t had as much rain as predicted here in Blenheim. Family members living near Marahau in the Tasman district have had a deluge. They’ve been busy clearing tracks and re-directing newly appearing streams. But yay! We are now past the shortest day. I can’t wait for longer days.
