Sky Hunters

Swallowtail kites spend their breeding season with us here in North Central Florida, although they live most of their lives in South America. Now they are busy feeding their young which will fledge in late August or September. Kites hunt large insects, tree frogs, lizards, and small snakes while flying over the tall tree tops.. They eat while flying as well. Both of these photos of a single kite show what appears to be a small frog in its talons.
