The Scott Memorial

We had a lovely afternoon at my eldest daughter's house. Having Sunday lunch cooked for us was an offer we couldn't refuse, as they always cook a wonderful lunch. Before we went I had to pick up my mother in law, which gave us a chance to have a quick walk around the lake. This is the Scott Memorial, built in 1915 to commemorate Captain Scott and his crew, who sailed from Cardiff in June 1910 on the SS Terra Nova, to locate the South Pole. Sadly, they all lost their lives in the Antarctic in 1912.
