Five of us went to Stanage (Popular End) today, car-sharing as usual from Willington, although that does mean I have to go south in order to go north... but that only bothers me on the way back, when we drive past my part of Derby and 10 minutes more, before I have to retrace the A38 in the opposite direction. I could meet them at the crag, and sometimes I do, but not today.

We opted for the far end of Popular and it was a good day, nice to see the others even if the climbing didn't go according to plan. I only climbed three routes, and can't honestly say that I enjoyed any of them as I was really tired, not helped by waking at 4.30am and being unable to get back to sleep! 

My bag felt really heavy today, but I suppose I had two flasks, one with soup, and two pairs of rock shoes as I wanted to start breaking in my La Sportivas. So all in all I felt as though I was turning into a 70 year old  :-O  which is of course what I am!!!
