And now for something totally different
East Cleveland was the venue today for the British Road Race National Championships 2024.
It means the whole town of Saltburn, where the race starts and finishes, is absolutely jam packed all day. The road coming up Saltburn Bank is closed for the duration (7am-7pm) and Glenside, where the podium is situated is closed too.
Rolling road blocks are in place as each circuit passes through. They also go round others towns and villages. Women in the morning, men in the afternoon. Lots of other side events take place for visitors and spectators. In Saltburn and the other through towns and villages.
We popped out to the garden centre this afternoon, which is in the opposite direction, but as we returned home the traffic was flowing fairly well so Callum said did I want to go take a look. While he was in the line of road blocked traffic, I nipped out the car and down to the spectators area for a few shots.
Never having taken this sort of photograph before, it’s not turned out too bad. One extra which shows some of my other shots.
