Alston Arrival

Visits today to the Stephenson Steam Railway at North Shields and the South Tynedale Railway at Alston, and today's Blipis from the latter showing steam locomotive 'Barber' arriving into Alston with a train.

The railway runs for approximately 5 miles from Alston to Slaggyford on the route of the former British Rail Alston branch line which closed in 1976 and which has been relaid with 2' gauge track between Alston to Slaggyford.
