Celebrating And Remembering.....

Summer has definitely arrived in Central Texas as those of us who gathered at FBC to join with our brothers and sisters in Christ can certainly attest.  Our temperatures haven't officially hit 100 degrees yet, but the heat index has already passed that mark and shows no signs of abating, so we were grateful for working AC as we came together to celebrate both a baptism and the Lord's Supper!  We began our service with a congregational song of worship and praise followed by the welcome from Pastor Wes and his adorable "assistant" which I still can't show you here, but if you were here or watching the Live-stream, you saw him. We were next blessed to witness a sweet baptism  The choir, orchestra and our talented accompanists followed that  up with a joyful rendition of "Because He Lives(Amen)" after which the congregation joined in a few more songs to prepare our hearts for the message Pastor Wes brought to us.  He took us to 2 Chronicles 15 to show us more about Asa and seeking the Lord.  He said that seeking the Lord would require courage, because it is often contrary to popular culture. He said that it would also require confidence in the One we seek, that He is who He says He is and is faithful to fulfill His promises to us.  He also said that seeking the Lord would require celebration of what God has already done for us, which would encourage us and those around us and spur us on to seek God and His will in every aspect of our lives!  At the end of the service, we were blessed to participate in the Lord's Supper or Communion in remembrance of the terrible price God paid to reconcile us for all eternity.  Pastor Wes had much more to say about the details of seeking God which you can find on the Live-stream.....
