Regeneration

Today we visited Burrator Arboretum on the western edge of Dartmoor. Earlier in the year it was closed , trees were cut down and large areas cleared. New trees have now been planted and some of the conifers replaced by deciduous trees. Improvements have also been made to the drainage, and what was a dark, impenetrable wood has now been opened up so that the light floods in. I think next year when the habitat has settled down a bit it will start to get interesting.
