Stuff and Nonsense

Hale Head Lighthouse

After taking Mum to an appointment, we had another shortish walk around Hale Head.  The lighthouse there is now disused and a private residence apparently. Most river traffic now uses the Manchester Ship canal so a lighthouse is not really needed anymore.
There are lots of wildflowers on the field margins(extra) but they were a little past their best - still looking nice though, but a bit more blue sky would have been better, haha :)
However, once again there was a complete lack of butterflies, and even other insects - we saw one pair of green veined whites and that's it :(
I really think that this years butterfly count will be massively down on previous years and we will be hearing much more about it.
