We said a reluctant farewell to our peaceful interlude in Wellow, but are looking forward to the next stage of our adventure in France coming up.
This blip was taken of a sculpture of a jet plane on a roundabout we went round about 3 times trying to find the way to the carpark where we were meeting Kevin, who had to drive down from Darlington. It is to commemorate Sir Frank Whittle, purportedly the inventor of the jet engine.
We had a Kebab from a food truck for dinner and then David drove us to Folkestone, where we stay overnight before getting on the Euro Tunnel first thing in the morning.
There is a neighborhood pub, “Master Brewer”, where campervans are welcome to stay overnight just for the price of a drink or food from the bar. Unusually, it happened to be very noisy tonight with lots of inebriated young people at 10pm at night! Something to do with the European Football game being shown.
I’m going to bed now in the van with my AirPods in to help block the noise when the pub eventually empties out!
