Apparently from a very quick google search that no one really knows where the tradition of blowing on dandelion to make a wish came from and that it can be traced back to the ancient Celts and the French  . For me however, I was never allowed to 'make a wish' with a dandelion because then they would grow all over the yard and my mom definitely would not like that!
