Piper Alpha 25 years on

I wanted to visit the memorial in Hazelhead Park to the 165 men that died on Piper Alpha twenty five years ago. I found it very moving seeing all the names, some as young as 19, and had to take some time out for a wee while.

Then last night I watched a wonderful BBC Documentary taking us through this day seen through the eyes of some survivors and rescuers.

My close family all work in the oil industry going off-shore regularly and I find it quite stressful at times worrying about them, my hubby works in EHS trying to keep them all safe.
