Nasturtium
I was actually sat in my wheelchair, tripod akimbo the chair, with my super telephoto lens attached just two metres from our thornless bramble bushes which is in full flower. waiting patiently, quietly & not moving. too much, for a bumble bee to show, Any one of the three main spices we get here. The common carder, the white tailed or the red tailed. None of which appeared, quite extra-ordinary.
This time last year there literally bees queuing up to have a go, this year nada. Nothing.
What is going on ? Is this the same all over the country?
So I turned my attention to the almost luminous nasturtium, not a favourite of mine but Rebecca likes them. In their defence however, they are a good food supply for the cabbage white caterpillar, later in the year.
