Poppy Field

I drove for over an hour and then walked for 20 minutes or so along a rugged farm track to reach a field of poppies which has been featuring largely on social media for the past couple of weeks. I knew they'd be past their prime but I had to see them for myself. They were still a fabulous sight, even though many had gone over. Looking for an image that was not just a lesser version of others I had seen, I quite liked this zoomed in version, which I feel works despite the wind, which was making things even more difficult.

There was also a lovely strip of oxeye daisies to enjoy en route!
