Matariki Morning

A special day, a public holiday in New Zealand to celebrate Matariki and Māori New Year. There are events and celebrations all around the motu ….. country.
We had a hard frost here with clear skies after days of cloud. Because Maisie and I walked a little later we finished our trek in bright winter sunlight. Here Maisie is making a dash across the river. There is more water in the ponded area and it is flowing quite fast. Maisie looks golden in the sunlight.
