Merens horses
Back blip.
These are quite rare original natives to this valley and have been saved from the brink of extinction and are now a tourist attraction, though requiring quite a walk even from the nearest place.
We set off from the village at the bottom but the valley and followed the GR10 up through woods to a grassy valley with loads of yellow gentians and a yellow umbellifer (as well of innumerable other flowers), and various creatures.
The horses are friendly and go to people so we benefited from those ahead of us to have a good view. Then another short climb to a lake (extras for the lake and some flowers).
Lunch and then back the same way.
Evening stroll round the town.
