Chicory

A wildflower for Flower Friday.

We returned from our walk down Chapel Spring Lane to find that, rather late in the day, the hayfield was being mowed. See Extra. When we asked if the hay was still good at this late date the the young man doing the mowing said "Oh yeah, it's fine. My cows eat it." As I commented to The Husband, I rather think the fact that the cows are willing to eat it doesn't exactly speak to its nutritional benefits. But what do I know?
