Bubble fun

Unpacked a parcel for Mum today, and was about to pierce all these giant pieces of bubble wrap, ready for recycling, when Mum told me that she's driven over them previously to pop them - so of course that's what we had to do! :)  Looks fun, and it was funny, but it was surprisingly unsuccessful, and we ended up popping most of them by hand - which was still satisfying.

Had a nice day with Mum before heading home late afternoon.  We went out in the garden late morning and I did some more weeding for her - then received a bombshell call from my manager (who I've worked with for 23 years, and who has been on 'special leave' for a few weeks), telling me that she was leaving our workplace on Friday.  She wasn't able to tell me anything about the circumstances, but reading between the lines it was not the outcome she wanted.  So sad to be losing her - she is much loved and we will all miss her.

My brother and sister-in-law were on the way to my Mum's, but unfortunately were running late, so we didn't cross over as hoped.  I got home just before dinner time, and they arrived at Mum's a little later.  I cooked dinner for Tim and me and we had a nice evening together.
