Let’s Hang On
I spotted Woody from Toy Story clinging on to the rear bumper of this van, as we drove home from the supermarket this afternoon. Annoyingly, the hoped for traffic queue didn’t materialise and I had to ask Mrs C to take the picture for me, which she managed when we slowed momentarily near this junction.
Considering I didn’t get up until 10 today (a succession of late and/or hot nights finally catching up with me) I’ve managed to pack a lot into the last few hours. A good session in the gym before lunch. Thanks to cooler temperatures, I even managed a couple of PBs. After lunch we popped into town to pay the final balance on our holiday and get something quick for tea from M&S. But rather than do a full shop there, we went on to Aldi as we wanted to see if we could get things of equal/better quality at a cheaper price. We were certainly able to fill the fridge and freezer with some lovely looking meals at a very reasonable cost. If they taste as good as they look, I (and my wallet) will be very happy! The rest of the afternoon was spent trying to book tickets for a few concerts next year, which all went on sale today. I managed to get tickets for them all, and am reasonably pleased with the seats I found and the prices I paid. It’s always a balance between not paying extortionate prices whilst, at the same time, not ending up sitting so far away that you can’t see the stage!
After tea I went to the BATS agm. Our little society is in rude health, after putting on four profitable productions last year. The committee were re-elected en masse and there was very little other business, so all was done and dusted within an hour. Back home in time for supper and an early night. Heading down to Chester tomorrow so need to get up a bit earlier than today if we want to everything we have planned.
