Speckled Wood Butterfly

We saw several of these in the wood this morning. They seemed to be going around in circles chasing each other, then landing where I couldn’t reach them. I’m surprised I spotted this one.
Although the sun has been shining most of the day the strong breeze has kept the temperature down.
I watered the garden, dead-headed the flowers, but did no more in the garden.
At least the washing dried well.
I’ve been reading, listening to music, and made a batch of banana and peanut butter treats for Geordie.
